The game in three lengths

In one sentence

Pumpdemonium is a satirical management game for PC: you buy a damp basement and try to turn it into a real gym.

In a paragraph

Pumpdemonium is a satirical gym management game, played in isometric view with a toy-like look. You buy a damp basement for a single dollar, equip it, hire staff, and find out your best customers are the ones who never show up. In chapter 2, Pumpfeed, the game's fake social network, brings in influencers and broccoli heads who hog the machines, while the Old-School Lifter judges every change you make. Made by Sixteen Tiles, an independent studio.

In detail

Pumpdemonium is a satirical gym management game for PC, played in isometric view, with a toy-like look and chibi characters. You buy a damp basement for a single dollar and turn it into a real gym. You pick machines, new or used. You hire a receptionist, a coach and a technician, set the membership prices and keep an eye on the breaker. Drop below -$1,000 and you're bankrupt. Every chapter is a new gym. Chapter 2 takes place in Fitness 2000, a 90s neighborhood gym bought along with its 120 regulars. There, Pumpfeed brings in influencers and broccoli heads who hog the machines, while an old regular has been judging everybody since 1989. Three meters, Hype, Credibility and Vibe, follow you from one gym to the next, and The Voice comments on everything over the PA. The game is playable in French and English.

Generative AI

Pumpdemonium is put together in Unity 6, and the Fitness 2000 gym and its machines are built in Blender. We also use generative AI, and we'd rather say so: for the characters' 3D models (animated afterwards in Blender), some of the decor images, The Voice (the dev's own voice, cloned), the DJ voices, the music, and as an assistant for writing the texts and the code, which the dev reviews and signs off. The jokes aim at behaviors, not at people: no real person, no real brand. The Steam page will carry the same disclosure.
